Are you surprised that You had a flurry of orders when you first started and now things have quietened down?
There is no cause for alarm because as a rookie in the cake industry, you might not have cake orders regularly.
Generally, across all business industries, there will be busy and quiet times and it’s about managing that both emotionally and financially.
As a newbie, there is a high tendency that when you don’t have orders, you start getting negative and then you lose your motivation and drive to get more business. We’ve all done it so here are my top tips on what to do on those quiet days.
Create Smaller Packages
The economy right now is no one’s playmate. Prices of materials are shooting up with the speed of light and everyone is trying to cut down costs.
Rather than wait for the normal bank-breaking orders, create affordable packages, like mini cakes, cake loaves, and slices.
That was why I had to open a sister brand called LazedbyAurora to cater to these smaller packages
Use Cost-Effective Recipes
We are in business to make money and create value, so quite giving a discount to every client that complains about your price.
like the popular business saying “not everyone is your customer” rather than run at a loss because you are trying to carry everyone along, try out inexpensive yet quality recipes that do not require too many ingredients to deliver your standard.
Send Reminders
Send a message to all your past clients, family, and friends reminding them that you are still in business.
You might say “this is me begging for orders” but however you see it if you don’t blow your trumpet no one will do that for you. also some of your clients might have legit forgotten that you are in business, so its best to seize the opportunity to tell them you are active and share your current prices, packages and offers with them.
